|Ballet – A major focus at the Academy is Classical Ballet. Student’s ballet training includes Pointe work, performance classes and incorporates the Vaganova and Royal Academy of Dance methods. Ages 3+.|
|Modern – The Academy’s Modern dance students are challenged with the Graham and Horton techniques. Cutting edge Contemporary classes are also offered for students to learn what’s at the forefront of dance today. Ages 8+ for Modern; Ages 11+ for Contemporary.|
|Jazz – Academy students are trained in classical Jazz dance in the style of the great masters Luigi, Bob Fosse & Phil Black and in the vein of Musical Theater. The Academy also offers Hip Hop Dance for students to cut loose! Ages 6+.|
|Tap – The Academy’s Tap classes are a fun and exciting way to develop rhythm & coordination! Ages 6+.|
|Pilates & GYROTONIC® – The Academy is the only area dance school to provide its students with the immense benefit of Pilates and GYROTONIC® training on specialized equipment. Ages 10+.|

The Academy holds a Workshop Presentation at the end of the year for specific classes, instead of an all school recital. Workshop classes are marked with a “P” on the schedule. The 2016 Presentation was performed at the stunning Grunin Center for the Arts at Ocean County College!
Academy students may audition for the Company of Dance Arts’ annual production of The Nutcracker and spring performance held at the Count Basie Theater. CODA is a non-profit, pre professional dance company affiliated with The Academy.
Select students may participate in the Youth America Grand Prix competition each spring. This competition is a great opportunity for pre professional students to hone their skills and perform in front of an esteemed panel of judges who could further their dance career. Academy students competing in solos and ensembles have received scholarships to prestigious dance schools and advanced to the finals in New York City!
Qualifying students may have the opportunity to take ballet examinations with a guest examiner or the Royal Academy of Dance. The vast majority of ADA’s exam candidates receive scores in RAD’s highest category of “Distinction”!
Tuition at the Academy is based on the full school year. Tuition is pro-rated for students who start mid year. For rates beyond 5 hours a week, ballet scholarships for Male students ages 3-18, financial aid & scholarship information please contact the Academy.
Private lessons with our teachers & accompanists are available for all styles of dance, piano & percussion, as well as Pilates & GYROTONIC® . Rates vary per teacher and will be given upon request.
